Guelph’s mayor has taken on new duties advocating for Ontario’s rapidly growing urban centres.
During a recent board meeting, Cam Guthrie was appointed to the Association of Municipalities of Ontario’s (AMO) Large Urban Caucus.
"This opportunity allows me to advocate for the needs and priorities of our growing cities and to collaborate with municipal leaders from across Ontario to address the challenges we face together,” he said in a news release. “AMO’s work is vital in ensuring that Ontario’s municipalities have a strong voice at the provincial level.”
AMO supports municipalities through advocacy work, policy development and resource sharing.
Guthrie previously served as chair of the Ontario Big City Mayors.
